Role: Senior UI Designer
Goal:
Unify visual identity and streamline UI across Android and iOS for Arlo’s new elite Home Security features.
Approach:
Built initial UI component library in Sketch. Migrated and scaled design system in Figma for improved documentation and collaboration.
Applied Material Design standards for Android while maintaining Arlo’s brand style.
Impact:
Delivered a cohesive, scalable design system supporting AI automation and multi-device interconnectivity.
Color:
Color palette is mainly grayscale with semantic colors and an accent color. Base components should use grayscale.
Challenge:
Arlo needed Android Design Systems as well as UI for new products.
Solution:
• Built a scalable Android design system, creating a Master Component Library, and improving UI flows for subscriptions, device interconnectivity, and accessibility. New dashboard UI delivers real-time device status with streamlined controls for scheduling, live feeds, and emergency response.
• Worked with developers and UX team on internal presentations of Subscriptions (customer paid options), and the interconnection of physical and digital products
• Improved products through user testing data and accessibility improvements
